Mrs B Walton
Emma was my doula for my second child, who is now 7. She was incredible! Calm, reassuring, patient, encouraging. I highly recommend her services. My son still has a special connection with her, he’s always been told that she was a special lady who helped mummy when he arrived and that she was there at the very start of his life. they share a lovely bond. Thank you so much Emma!
Mrs P Payne
Emma helped my son into the world 14 years ago, she was calm, cheerful and so encouraging. Her in depth knowledge was very reassuring, she had answers for all my questions and stopped my husband flapping! I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Mrs L Twomey
Emma, helped my partner and I all throughout our pregnancy. She gave me invaluable advice and was the most supportive woman ever. I would highly recommend Emma to share a part in your pregnancy x

Emma played a hugely important role during the birth of my first son. Despite a difficult birth, Emma’s presence was undeniably reassuring. She has a wealth of knowledge, took amazing care of me, explained what was happening to my body and gave me the support I needed. In short, Emma is one in a million!
Mrs Y Harrison
Emma was amazing at the birth if my 3rd child. I had 2 births that had needed intervention and was determined for that not to happen again. Emma listened and planned with me before hand and thanks to her I had the birth that I wanted. She was amazing and calm during labour and it was a great experience, I only wish she had been there for all 3 of them.
Mrs A Querelle
I had heard about Hypnobirthing from a few friends but I had no idea how it would affect my outlook on pregnancy and labour. Emma was truly amazing throughout our journey. She was so kind and supportive and even though my labour was complicated (due to waters breaking early) I was able to keep calm and make rational decisions about what we wanted to happen. Protecting my space was a big focus during our sessions and Emma really helped us to work out what we wanted to have during labour and help us create a brilliant birth plan. If there is one thing I would now recommend to friends who are expecting it would be to go and see Emma and book into her amazing course.

I was recommended to Emma by our midwife at the Cotswold Birth Centre.
My husband and I weren’t sure what to expect but a Emma came highly recommended so we thought we would give it a go...
We are so glad we did. Emma gave us a new perspective and some excellent techniques for the “main event”.
I ended up having my 1st baby in the comfort of my own home (unplanned) and only a 5 hours labour and I truly believe this is down to the fact that I was able to relax myself enough using the hypnobirthing techniques Emma has taught us.
My husband and I highly recommend Emma.

When my wife Nicola suggested hypnobirthing, I instantly thought of the “Spiritual Hippy”, however, it was far from that, Emma’s course helped us both realise that we are the masters of our own destiny.
With our birth plan firmly in place with Emma’s help, I was able to assert myself at the birth leaving my wife to concentrate on the natural birth of our Son.
At first albeit a cliché, I expected I was going to be a spare priest at a wedding sat quietly in the corner of a Hospital room with the Doctors and Midwives assisting in the birth and of course the machine that goes “ping”…
Thanks to Emma, we went from wanting to give birth in controlled medical environment in hospital in a room full of health care professionals with full access to any available pain relief, to having a natural home birth with a midwife on hand (just in case) and me being right by my wife’s side throughout labour and the birth of our Son.
Hypnobirthing gave me the confidence to get involved and know exactly what role I had to play as a birth partner and Husband. Nicola was so thankful for my involvement and told me that I couldn’t have done any more than I did to support her and that she cannot wait to give birth again because she found it such a positive experience.
Hypnobirthing gave my wife and I the tools we needed to have a calm, positive, natural and confident home birth without pain relief.

My wife and I can’t recommend Emma enough to any expecting parents. We had plenty of ups and downs in our pregnancy, with many choices apparently ‘taken away’ from us but Emma’s coaching prepared us beyond anything we could have imagined. Thank you so much for being part of our journey Emma - Anna and I both love you loads! Say hello to Audrey Angela Fisher born 10/10/19, weighing 7lbs and 3oz xx

Testimonial From Mrs V and Mr A Holt..........
Why I chose hypnobirthing
I have always had a deep-rooted fear of pregnancy and childbirth, no doubt fostered through some of the negative stories I had been exposed to as a child and in the years since. I also manage a phobia of vomiting; my sister suffered from dreadful morning sickness, so I was really concerned I would be the same (I wasn’t - I wasted so much time worrying about something that didn’t happen!). The theory of hypnobirthing resonated with me; much of it seems similar to how you might approach a sporting event. I have run one marathon (never again!) and I used visualisation, positive mantras (“just keep running, just keep running” :) ) and breathing exercises to stay calm at the start of the run. I was also keen to learn as much as possible about the physiology of birth; I’m definitely one of those people that wants to know exactly what’s happening - forewarned is forearmed! I hate to not be in control (refer you back to the vomiting phobia!) and felt that hypnobithing could help me remain calm and focussed. In truth, part of me felt that anything that could help was worth a shot…! We chose Emma partly because she had been a midwife previously, so she was able to give us the detailed insight we were looking for.
How hypnobirthing helped me
Emma and the Little Birth Company gave me the confidence and tools to approach birth positively. We had hoped to be able to have our baby at the Cotswold Birth Centre, party because I had dreaded the drive to the JR (it can take us over an hour and a half if the traffic is bad). This hope unravelled fairly rapidly at 41 weeks, when I was told I would need to be induced because I had indicators of pre-eclampsia. Emma had encouraged us to plan for this, so even as every one of my preferences (midwife-led unit, pool birth, no induction…) fell by the wayside, I was able to remain calm and focus on the elements that my husband and I could control. Using the techniques we had been taught, my husband and I were able to have a truly positive birth experience - despite it not looking anything like the birth I had hoped for.
One of the biggest benefits of the Little Birth Company was that my husband felt actively involved in the preparation and process of birth. So much of pregnancy is mama-focussed (rightly so!), that partners can feel sidelined. Attending this course with my husband was something where we were both equally involved; his thoughts and fears were just as important as mine. We approached birth as a team and I think this was one of the main reasons it was such a positive experience for us both.
Emma was so much more than a hypnobirthing instructor; she genuinely cared and even spent 45 minutes on the phone chatting through our induction options the evening before I was admitted. I cannot recommend her enough; she became an integral part of our birth preparation and we are so glad that we found her.
Emma, Thank you for all your guidance and support over the course of our pregnancy - especially the phone call pre-induction! You were instrumental in helping us achieve such a positive birth - despite it being (almost!) everything we didn't want! Not only that, but you helped us to have a calm pregnancy. Thank you for playing such a pivotal role in our journey to parenthood.

I had the most wonderful experience with Emma and her relaxation classes whilst I was pregnant. They really soothed, relaxed and created a feeling of positivity. The classes were small and set in the warmth of Emma’s house. All this gave me confidence to birth my second baby. with a quick labour at Cotswold Birth Centre I was able to birth my baby my way with consistent positive mantras going through my mind. I would recommend these classes especially with Emma who has been supportive the entire way through. An added bonus is the hot drinks and biscuits whilst we have a chit chat at the end of each session. This is a class I already miss now I’ve had my little one. Thank you so much Emma Cornish it was wonderful and something I’ll always remember. Xx
Mrs K Lockyer
The biggest fear for me with pregnancy was definitely the labour aspect . I have heard horror stories/ negative comments so I was keen to try and address my fears.
I had several people recommend Emma Cornish’s hypnobirthing course which led me to undertake the full course with her. I felt the course was extremely useful in helping to change my mindset with labour and taught me techiques I could use to help me cope during the time. In addition, I thought the relaxation classes on a Monday worked well alongside the course to reinforce the positive mindset and keep me feeling chilled.
I actually ended up having an emergency c section, however I was still able to use all the techniques taught to me to help keep me calm and making the experience a positive one!
Emma is brilliant, so calm and kind, I felt very comfortable around her. I am so very glad to have done the course and can honestly say by the end of the course I was not afraid of labour. I would definitely recommend the course to anyone with doubts about labour/birth!

We really cannot thank you enough for the support of your wonderful course. I truly feel that you equipped us with so much knowledge and choices in the run up to Claudia's arrival.nWe could not have predicted CTG monitoring, stirrups and a midwife shouting PUSH in my ear, but it was in so many ways very positive. You were so easy to talk to and made us feel so welcome in your lovely home. Thank you for everything and wishing you all the best for your business and your lovely family.

Really enjoyed our workshop with Emma. She has helped to take away any feelings of fear or uncertainty about having out baby and we now feel much more informed, prepared and excited about it all! The relaxation techniques and Mp3’s are great, brilliant to use in everyday life too. Emma is so lovely, we felt so comfortable with her and able to ask anything and talk openly and freely. Couldn’t recommend enough! (Online Workshop during Covid-19 Lockdown)

Hi Emma,
Just to update you we have had our beautiful baby boy 😊
After much thought and discussion we had planned out our c-section, scheduled with my own consultant next week. However, as I feared little one had his own plans and my waters broke on Thursday evening 🙈 thankfully I was able to stay calm, explain our preferences and continued to ask questions. We ended up with a category 3 c-section yesterday. The team were all amazing, and they had even been down to speak with my consultant who was in her clinic appointments at the hospital yesterday morning to make sure they understood my history and were able to support me in having a wonderful, calm and positive birth. It was a world away from last time and we left theatre feeling on cloud 9. Thank you for all your support! 😊 It was everything I needed, even though it wasn't how we expected it all to go. Hubby couldn't stop praising the team looking after us, he said it was just everything he'd hoped for for me. It's just been the best experience, and already the recovery feels so much easier.Xx

I was able to have the natural birth I wanted, with thanks to Emma and her hypnobirthing course. She armed me with the knowledge I needed to understand what the process of birth was going to be like, which gave me the confidence to take ownership of my options and understand I was able to say no when I was offered an induction. I had my baby boy with minimal intervention, which meant both of us have had a great recovering since the birth.

“Emma so beautifully guided my partner and I through the Hypnobirthing course. Emma creates such a welcoming and calm space to be in and with her wealth of experience and knowledge (from being a midwife in the past) is able to provide you with all the information you will need in the preparation of delivering your child into this world. The evening sessions we had gave us such a rich experience. Emma guides you through the meditations with ease and flow and you feel very safely held by her.
Our birth didn’t quite go the way we had planned. This is also something that Emma is able to prepare you for. Our birth became a medical emergency which left me with some very difficult experiences to deal with, as the birth partner, I witnessed some very challenging moments. After being so well held by Emma in the lead up to the birth I knew I could call her to talk through what had happened and Emma suggested I try the Three Step Rewind program to help me understand what had happened in a different way.
I cannot thank Emma enough for this. Emma guided me through this program designed to help you process a challenging experience with the same expertise and care and I feel so much better for it. Emma’s generosity of spirit and her goal to help you navigate your way through this time of transition feeling empowered is beyond amazing.
I just cannot recommend highly enough”.

We feel so lucky to have met Emma and been guided by her in the lead up to birth of our first child.
She is a wonderful and kind lady with the warmest heart.
The hypnobirthing course has taught us so much and opened our minds to a more natural birth! It also gave us the time and space to focus on our baby, away from all distractions and have the dedicated time to discuss together the things that really matter to me as mum during the birth.
We feel that Emma’s time as a midwife and also a mother is invaluable as she was able to answer queries we also have as first you parents.
We would recommend Emma and Hypnobirthing to any one expecting whether it’s your first or subsequent child.

My partner and I absolutely loved our hypnobirthing sessions with Emma. Emma made us feel welcome and at ease straight away in her home. The knowledge and learning we gained from the course was huge. I felt we covered everything and were able to discuss certain subjects in depth with Emma which I found really reassuring. Emma is incredibly knowledgable on her subject, particularly as she used to be a Midwife and has given birth herself. We have come away feeling united, prepared, empowered and looking forward to labour as a couple. I particularly appreciated the support in writing our birth plan and I would recommend Emma and her course to anyone.

Without a doubt this was the best decision we made on our pregnancy journey thus far. Not only did Emma help us overcome all our fears around birth itself, she educated us on all our options and rights so we feel fully prepared and equipped with all tools we need to ensure we have a positive birth experience for every eventuality. It really helped my husband in particular to understand what a positive birth can look like and how to be a knowledgeable birth partner. Truly an eye opening experience for both of us and has really made us look forward to the birth of our baby!

We had an amazing experience doing the hypnobirthing course with Emma - we learned so much in such a short space of time, and she was incredibly thorough- taking the time to talk us through everything we wanted to know. I’d really recommend Emma to anyone looking for more in-depth knowledge of what to expect, as well as really valuable techniques to help with confidence around birth.

We feel beyond lucky to have met Emma. We first did her hypnobirthing course which was absolutely incredible - the course was really informative and Emma was happy
to answer all of our questions, and was so supportive throughout. I felt quite a bit of anxiety in the lead up to the birth but the course really helped to ground me and visualise the birth and feelings around it. She really prepared us for what to expect and the different kinds of births that happen, which we felt empowered us to make better decisions in the moment. I had such a positive birth experience despite some unpredictable moments, the techniques she taught me and preparation she gave me were a core part of making that experience so special and one of the best moments of my life.
We loved Emma so much that we asked her for post natal doula support and it’s no exaggeration to say it was a really life changing experience. Emma is so naturally intuitive and caring, and I really feel she has taught me life skills in terms of mothering my baby. She showed me the practicalities of looking after him with really useful tips and advice from everything like sleep to washing to getting them down for naps, as well as how to communicate with my newborn : reading his signals, and how to keep him engaged and stimulate him. But in addition to that she also took amazing care of me too - ensuring I was ok and had the support I needed during those early newborn weeks whilst I recovered and adapted to a completely new life. Our whole family adored her - we nicknamed her The Baby Whisperer, because our baby was instantly soothed the minute she walked through the door. I cannot recommend Emma’s services enough - she is a true expert at what she does, and also a genuinely lovely human that breathes warmth and care into everything she does.

We had a little girl called Sybil on the 13th of June. She was 7lbs and born at the JR and is perfect.
I had a really wonderful birth experience despite it not being plan A. My waters broke on the evening of the 10th June as we were walking the dog having had a few very early symptoms of labour starting. I wanted to wait as long as possible. Unfortunately across the next couple of days I was contracting at night but during the day the pressure was getting the better of me and everything dried up. On the Thursday afternoon we were asked to come in and in the end I decided to be induced. It didn’t take much of the hormone drip and 6 hours later we had Sybil. I was very much in the zone and using my Hypnobirthing learning to get me through. We had the most wonderful midwife and by the next day I wanted to do it all over again. It was magic! Will be at Chippy next time! Honestly, I genuinely enjoyed birth and I never thought I would say that. I was so petrified before but felt very prepared in the moment. X

Our Christmas Miracle
We welcomed the birth of our first child on Christmas Day 2024. A day we will never forgot.Contractions started on Christmas Eve at 11pm and straightaway our birth plan came into play. We felt so confident and at ease with the guidance we had from Emma. Our plan was to stay at home for as long as possible before we needed to call on the out of hours service at our local midwife unit. We stayed at home until 3:30am and the whole time we used the techniques we learnt with Emma. The breathing, the setting, the gentle touch and positive environment, they all played a part.
We arrived at 4am Christmas Morning at the midwife unit in Chipping Norton. We had to wait longer than expected due to our midwife being in a very unfortunate road traffic accident. The whole time we waited (in the chilly car park) we kept calm and continued to used the breathing techniques thought by Emma. By 5am I was in the birthing pool and baby was on his way. Dan (my husband) kept calm and composed, always there to support and guide me through. We stuck to our plan and always asked questions when we wanted more information on our options. All of which was guided by Emma’s teaching. We felt empowered by our carefully thought out birth plan but we also knew the questions to ask and understood our choices available. After a short and relaxed labour Baby Thomas was born 8:50am Christmas Morning in the Birthing Pool. It was a very special moment and the bond between us as a family was incredible. We were lucky to have experienced our ‘Plan A’, but we were aware and comfortable with our other plans should we have needed to use them. A short visit to the JR hospital for some stitches was not in our plan but I was able to keep calm during the transfer of hospitals and having the stitches.
Post Birth, after the Christmas Period and since being back at work I have called on Emma for her support with Thomas. She has been incredible! Thomas absolutely loves her. Emma has been a solid support for the family. Giving positive advice and guidance through the first few months of parenting, all of which has been invaluable. It has been a pleasure having Emma at our home whilst she has cared for Thomas. This has allowed me time to work and also take time for myself. I would highly recommend Emma for her Hypnobirthing course and guidance, and also her postnatal support. There is so much more than just the course she offers to consider. She has become a friend and support during this time. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her.
